Over 80 Yalies participated, in a very personal, authentic, and caring way, in an April 2020

webinar on coping during the coronavirus. Yvette Rivers ’96, president of the Yale Club of Washington, DC, which — along with 1stGenYale’s Washington, DC, chapter— co-sponsored the event, hosted psychologist Roni Beth Tower ’80 PhD. Roni Beth led imagery exercises and shared strategies on how to cope, including

  • Accept your entire range of emotions – sadness, joy, grief, restlessness, hope . . . these are all who we are.

  • Stay connected to yourself.

  • Give yourself permission to feel and have compassion for others.
