Thanks for attending the Fair
It was awesome to have students, Yale staff, alumni, and employers join us at our 2nd Annual Summer Bulldogs Internship Fair as we kicked off the 2027 summer internship hiring cycle and connected Yale students with employers recruiting for internship opportunities taking place next summer.
At the fair, students had the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents, meet with employers, and get a head start on securing internship opportunities for next summer. They also had the opportunity to explore Yale resources to support their internship search. Throughout the event, alumni, peers, and Yale staff were, and still are, available to help students expand their network, strengthen their career search strategies, and answer their questions.

How did Summer Bulldogs interns find over $1.2 million in fellowships and funding for their summer internships over the past six years? Read our Funding Guide to learn about funding for your summer internship experiences to find out. Here are three tips to get you started:

Begin searching for eligible summer fellowship funding even before you are sure which internship(s) you want to apply for. Search first in the Student Grants Database. For more information, ask questions via fellowships@yale.edu, or sign-up for an appointment or quick advising in the Fellowships Office.

Apply for multiple fellowships and awards, even if you are on financial aid and applying for the Summer Experience Grant (SEG).

Use 1stGenYale Pathfinder to organize and track your applications and experiences so it's easier to prepare your resumé and plan your path through your semesters and summers.
The 1stGenYale Summer Bulldogs Impact
Since 2020, 308 1stGenYale Summer Bulldogs interns have worked in 155+ nonprofits, government and public service, the arts, education, STEM research, and for-profit companies. Most of our program's students have benefitted from $1.12 million in fellowships and awards Yale has resourced for their summers, providing them an outstanding opportunity to work at organizations that would not otherwise be able to pay enough.
1stGenYale Summer Bulldogs is an entirely Yale alumni volunteer-run program without direct funding from Yale for its operations or administration. 1stGenYale, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, relies on donations to operate our programs.
