1stGenYale DC and the Yale Club of Washington, DC, partnered for an exciting online Yale Day of Service event. DC-area high school students who will be the first in their families to go to college received advice and mentoring from 30 Yale alumni, including panelists and interview experts — Yale Alumni Schools Committee directors from Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington, DC. Small group breakouts, in which students could hear from alumni about successes and lessons learned through the process of applying to elite universities, rounded out the evening.
