How to Stand Out as a Candidate for Nonprofit Jobs

Updated: Aug 1

Students and alumni aiming for careers in the nonprofit sector had the opportunity to hear from four representatives of nonprofit search firms. Michele Counter (DHR Global), Jennifer Dunlap (DRiWaterstone), Melissa Madzel (Axis Talent Partners), and Ken Rich (Boyden) gave pertinent, candid advice to the 75 students -- from Yale College and the Graduate and Professional Schools -- and alumni who attended. A lively discussion, moderated by Robyn Acampora of Yale's Office of Career Strategy (OCS) and Michael Watson '81 of 1stGenYale, addressed more than two dozen questions that participants submitted in advance. The November 2022 virtual event was co-sponsored by OCS and the Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance.
