Over 150 alumni and students from across Yale schools enjoyed networking at the 9th annual Career Networking Mixer at the Afro-American Cultural Center in November 2024. The mixer was also part of our National First-Generation College Day celebration.

The event fostered joy and organic mentoring, as alumni and students shared their stories and aspirations, creating lasting connections across different Yale schools and programs. By showing how the first-gen community spans the entire Yale campus, the mixer broke down barriers and created meaningful spaces for shared experiences.

Thank you to all the alumni who shared their personal journeys at Yale and beyond. Thanks to the team of Sam G. Samdani '84, J'Healee '94 PhD, Lara Mohamed '27, Tanisha Narine '26, YAA SIG Associate Director Julisa De Los Santos, and the staff of the Afro-American Cultural Center for setting up the room - and to the YAA for the delicious traditional Caribbean food.
