On Friday, October 24, 2025, 1stGenYale demonstrated great presence at the Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance’s (YANA) 2025 Social Impact Conference.

During the morning breakfast and later as part of the networking bingo icebreaker, Maritza Guzman ’87 and Easter Chiu ’87 welcomed attendees to learn more about 1stGenYale’s mission and programs. The 1stGenYale table drew consistent interest from alumni and nonprofit leaders who stopped by to connect, share perspectives, and explore potential opportunities for collaboration.
The conference focused on navigating organizational change in challenging times, strengthening financial sustainability, mobilizing volunteer talent, and developing partnerships that create lasting impact. In that context, conversations at the 1stGenYale table emphasized the value of community and mentorship, as well as the importance of expanding access and support for first-generation and low-income students and alumni.

1stGenYale appreciates everyone who took the time to engage during the conference, and extends special thanks to Maritza and Easter for representing the organization.
